Wife of Jogger Hacked to Death in Dallas Park Commits Suicide - Texas

Oct 27, 2015

Dallas police said the wife of a jogger who was hacked to death in a park by former footballer Thomas Johnson earlier this month has committed suicide over her husband’s horrific murder.

That means Johnson’s “random” machete attack that left David Steven’s lying slain on a popular trail near his residence two weeks ago has now claimed the lives of two victims.

Officers performing a welfare check this Sunday on his widow Patti Stevens found the despondent woman dead by her own hand in the couple’s garage.

Days after her spouse’s brutal killing, she had already publicly expressed feeling completely “lost” without him.

Investigators believe that Mr. Stevens’ attacker randomly targeted him on October 12th, while in the midst of a major psychotic breakdown.

Relatives also said that the behavior of Thomas Johnson -- once a star wide receiver at Texas A&M -- was becoming more and more erratic in the years since he first went missing from that university campus.

The 21-year-old accused slasher inexplicably left college in November 2012 to embark on a career in crime which has now, sadly, extended to homicide and wrongful death.
