A test and lesbian sex scandal threatens to disrupt back-to-school days for William Cullen Bryant High School in Long Island City New York this semester.

Administrators there were already under suspicion -- and investigation -- for allegations of awarding passing grades and credit to failing students so to better the reputations of both educators and the school system.

But this month the controversy surrounding Bryant HS greatly deepened, amid rumors concerning a cover up by the head principal of a sexual relationship between her female assistant and a senior girl.

Pelagia ‘Pelly’ Papoutsis, 33, who is herself an alumna of Bryant High, was promoted from math teacher to assistant principal last year; about the same time she’s said to have pursued “improper” relations with the 17-year-old “of [her] dreams.”

Their lesbian affair, according to the seemingly regretful student who’s now in college, continued well past graduation. And, while it’s not criminal because she was legally the age of consent in NY, it was nevertheless grounds for the AP’s dismissal.

Since being publicly outed on Facebook by her ex teen-lover this summer, Pelly Papoutsis has in fact been removed from her appointed post and related duties at Bryant; but the State’s probe into widespread wrongdoing at Bryant High now necessarily includes her professional misconduct.

“In hindsight, it was super obviously twisted and wrong,” the young woman remorsefully admitted in a series of bare-all text messages she sent to another former teacher at William Cullen Bryant.

She has not been identified.
