#Missing Marley Spindler #FoundSafe But Busted For False Alarm (photo)

Missing teenager Marley Spindler has been found safe, but sadly she’s in trouble with the law for filing a false report.

Her missing persons case has been classified as solved “by arrest,” now that she’s in police custody on a bogus report that she’d been abducted and sexually assaulted.

The 16-year-old, who *disappeared* last week just prior to commencing the first day of school, had sent an urgent-sounding text message to some classmates indicating she was “being followed” in her car.

The Myrtle Beach high-schooler then instantly became the subject of a massive search effort that spread to social media and crime sites (like ours), but was located Wednesday afternoon unharmed.

During subsequent questioning, Spindler aroused the suspicion of detectives by offering them an elaborate sometimes contradictory account of her kidnapping and assault ordeal.

She was then taken for a medical examination where a rape kit was processed.

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice has been notified of Marley Spindler’s criminal status and will likely assume custody, according to a spokesman for the Horry County police.

The girl’s parents could not be reached directly for comment, but posted the following update on their Find Marley facebook page on the same day their daughter was found safe and arrested:

“We now would like to ask you to please allow us the time and privacy we need to begin to healing as a family. This page will remain open and we welcome you to leave your positive messages of love and support for Marley McKenna and her family. God Bless Ya’ll!”

The couple could be forced to reimburse law enforcement agencies for expenses incurred during the search for their voluntarily-missing child.
