PHOTO: Another serial pet killer has been busted -- this one in Massachusetts -- after police searched a hit-and-run suspect’s home and found scores of dying animals and rotting carcasses there.
Dan Santos, 43, had several nonfatal motor vehicle collisions in a city parking lot early Saturday morning before driving off in a fury.
The next day, police showed up at his residence in New Bedford MA and took him into custody for leaving the scene of an accident, and on suspicion of animal cruelty.
Arresting officers reported finding at least seven starving dogs and one malnourished cat imprisoned in the suspected serial pet killer’s filthy house.
About a dozen decomposing bodies of rabbits, chickens and cats were discovered in other areas of his property as well, some left to die in locked sheds or cages.
Santos has so far been charged with nine counts of cruelty and abuse, but the probe into his animal dungeon is still ongoing today.
