Hostage Learns a Pizza Hut Pie Can Save Lives

May 6, 2015

A quick thinking Pizza Hut patron, held hostage at knifepoint by her meth-crazed boyfriend, placed an online order for a classic pizza pie in which she included an SOS message.

Workers at the Florida franchise acted fast when they read Cheryl Treadway’s desperate plea for them to, “Please help. Get 911 to me,” sending the cops to immediately investigate.

Minutes later, when police arrived at the home of the young mother-of-three, they found her 26-year-old strung out lover Ethan Nickerson wielding a blade and wearing a stupefied expression.

Seems he didn’t know his girlfriend very well, especially how cool and shrewd she could be under fire – Treadway had duped him into letting her order pizza and used the website’s comment section creatively.

“I've been here 28 years and never, never seen nothing like that come through,” says the Pizza Hut manager, whose staff apparently recognized the pizza hostage as a repeat customer and knew the address she’d given.

“The boyfriend never knew about it until he saw us coming around the corner,” said one of the highly impressed deputy sheriffs who responded to the 911 alert.

Cheryl Treadwell and her frightened children were rescued without incident and the truly blown-away Nickerson arrested at the scene.

The methamphetamine abuser is now facing charges of false imprisonment, obstruction of justice, assault and battery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
