The Jodi Arias Murder Trial

Wed, 05/22/2013 - 19:32
From what I have heard about the Jodi Arias murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander on June 4, 2008 was a very brutal murder.

Jodi Arias says that after a night of sex she and Travis were photographing each other and then she dropped the expensive camera and Travis got angry and started to chase her angrily. Jodi says she was afraid for her life and she got a knife and stabbed him and then she also knew he had a gun in his house and she got the gun and also shot him in the head.

This trial started in January 2013 and now it is May 22, 2013 and right now the jury is deliberating. A few hours ago the jury said they could not reach a conclusion.

As a Christian I am against the death penalty and I hope and pray that she will get life instead.

From what information that came out in this very long trial it can be assumed that Jodi very much wanted to have Travis as her boyfriend even though his religion is Mormon. Mormons, evidently, according to the trial, cannot have sex before marriage so Travis broke that rule when he had sex with Jodi. So Travis was having sex with Jodi but he also told her he would never marry her because of his religious beliefs. Travis did baptize Jodi into his religion but it seems that he rejected her as a future wife.

All through the times that Travis and Jodi dated since 2006, Travis would ask Jodi for money for various things that he needed and Jodi had to go into debt to please Travis. All this info is according to what Jodi Arias told in court since Travis can no longer talk we have to believe her or not believe  her.

According to Jodi, Travis would request strange perverted sexual things and she would agree to accept these as long as Travis was happy even though she seemed to be unhappy with these actions.

From what Jodi said Travis would use her for money and cause her to be in financial hardship, as described, he would convince her to have perverted sex with him, he never intended to marry her and the sex was just for pleasure and not love and then in the end Travis would attack Jodi and Jodi was defending herself with a knife and with a gun until she overkilled Travis.

One has to look at this murder from the perspective of a woman who has been kept an emotional hostage by Travis even though Travis said that Jodi was not staying out of his life and injecting herself into his life over and over again after he found new girlfriends. It is possible that Jodi wanted to show Travis that she is worth more than just a sexual object and that Travis did not want to understand this message and when he kept using her for money and sex over and over again and then disrespected her in other ways and then attacked her - that was the very last straw for Jodi and at that point Jodi understood that she was nothing to Travis.

Travis mistreating her so many times was just too much to take for Jodi after having invested 2 years into this relationship. She had put her whole heart, mind and body into this relationship so what Travis did to her mattered to her a whole lot. So one can look at the example of Cain and Abel and how Cain killed Abel because he was emotionally upset because God loved the gifts that Abel gave better than his own.

So emotional distress is a good reason for a person to become a murderer according to the Bible. Emotional distress can be so disturbing to a person's emotional well being that it can drive that person to commit  murder.

All the professional people that were on Jodi Arias' side that the defense presented in this case were treated badly by the prosecutor Martinez. The public would send death threats to people who sided with Jodi Arias and they then refused to testify in behalf of Jodi at the hearing before the jury went into deliberations. Jodi spoke about 20 minutes for herself to let the jury know that she was abused by Travis and she did apologize to the family of Travis and her own family.

On the news it is said that Jodi Arias is the most hated woman in America. I don't understand this kind of thinking. Jodi has endured much abuse by Travis and nobody even considers that maybe Jodi is telling the truth?

Many of Jodi's friends vouch for  her as being a generally good person with a few emotional ups and downs in her life. How can anyone blame this emotional ups and  downs on her when Travis treated her like a prostitute instead of a real girlfriend, as a  bank instead of a real girlfriend, as a punching bag instead of a real girlfriend? Wasn't Jodi Arias defending herself against Travis when she killed him? Didn't the attack her? According to Jodi he did.

Jodi takes care of herself and the public sees that as a negative in her. They don't like that she takes good care of her hair and make-up. What all this has to do with her as a person I don't know. Maybe Travis demanded 100% good looks from her who knows?

I am not going to be a hypocrite and call Jodi Arias a liar in all she does and says like so many others are doing. I am praying for her that no matter what happens that she will be prepared and that God may help her through this difficult time. I also pray for the Travis Alexander family and the family of Jodi Arias.
